Dunstable Colts Under 10’s played at Wembley - Monday 6th August 2007.
Dunstable colts were chosen to represent Bedfordshire FA in the McDonalds sponsored Fair Play festival event at the new Wembley Stadium, home of football.
The Under 10s team were picked after winning the Beds FA Charter Standard Fair Play festival at Kempston, in July earlier this year; where players, coaches and parents showed how the game can be played in the spirit of ‘fair play’.
Firstly the day began, by players, coaches, family and friends travelling to Northwich Park, where they played three games with teams from Derbyshire, Cheshire and Middlesex.
Here the team received some thrilling coaching from the ex-Manchester United Youth Team coach Eric Harrison, and took part in some fun packed activities.
After lunch, everyone made their way to the new Wembley Stadium the ‘Home of Football’, where Sir Geoff Hurst MBE opened the Wembley Stadium fair play festival event.
The team was accompanied by two supporters (Jack and Connor) seen here on the back row left hand side. Unfortunately they couldn't participate in the day’s games.

Our Under 10s team played a fantastic 12 minute game; coached by Stuart Drury and Tony Kay from the side lines and watched from the stands by family, friends and the club secretary John Ellingham.
After the match the team was presented with a trophy by England manager Steve McClaren, and then players and coaches had a group photograph taken with Sir Geoff Hurst.
The whole day was such a wonderful and great lifetime experience to be remembered always by all involved.
Dunstable Colts expresses a personal thank you to both James and Les from Beds County FA, and for their contribution to the day’s events; and to thank the whole of both Bedfordshire FA and McDonalds for providing this opportunity.
